About Hare, Chase & Heckman, Inc:
Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, Commercial insurance and Life/Health.
In 1867, shortly after the Civil War ended, R. Emmott Hare entered the insurance industry by opening his own Insurance Agency in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As this business grew a partnership was formed between Mr. Hare and Mr. Randall Chase and the firm of Hare & Chase was established.
Due to causes lost to history, Mr. Chase eventually left the firm to form a new partnership with Rodman R. Heckman, Sr. and the firm of Chase & Heckman came into existence.
Through the years both Hare & Chase and Chase & Heckman continued as independent organizations representing quality Insurance Companies while providing outstanding service to their respective customers. The firms were friendly competitors with the principals of each firm having a strong professional respect for each other.
As time passed, the principals of Hare & Chase and Chase & Heckman realized that a higher level of customer service could be achieved if the two firms were to merge. Accordingly, in the year 2000 a merger took place and the firm of Hare, Chase & Heckman, Inc. was established with the business being located in Malvern, PA.
At this time Hare, Chase & Heckman, Inc. maintains Agency as well as Brokerage agreements with many of the finest insurance companies that exist.
Our client base, while centered in the surrounding tri-state area, includes businesses from coast to coast and border to border. Thomas S. Heckman, CPCU ~ Tom@harechaseandheckman.com
Tom started at Chase & Heckman on August 1, 1973 fresh out of the Hartford Insurance Company’s training school. Tom’s father, Rodman R. Heckman, Jr. put him to work running the “claims desk” as that was the best way to learn the business to know what was covered and what wasn’t. As time passed Tom enrolled in the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter program and was awarded the CPCU designation on September 12, 1983 – the highest designation in the Property and Casualty field.
Shortly thereafter Tom’s father retied followed by his uncle – Paul A. Lineburger, Jr – leaving Tom to carry on the business.
In 2000 the firms of Hare & Chase, Inc. and Chase & Heckman, Inc. merged to form Hare, Chase & Heckman, Inc.
